4/4 – Acts 4:36-37 and Acts 5:1-11 – How authentic am I in my life with my family, friends, business and financial dealings? Prayer starter: Unifying spirit; strengthen my resolve to be honest in my interactions with others, and to do my part to create a climate in which they will feel invited and free to be genuine in response.
4/5 – Acts 6:1-15 – What about food? Do I feed my body Well? Do I feed my soul with regular study and reading? Prayer starter: Holy Eternal One, sometimes it is so wearying to be human, to hold body and soul together, to maintain balance. Give me energy for the challenge: it brings such great rewards.
4/6 – Acts 7:1-60 and Acts 8:1 – How do I react when my sacred verities are questioned? How do I treat those who pose the questions? Prayer starter: Lord, teach me to remember how immense you are, how all our various verities are more limited than unimaginable you, and how much you love us all.
4/7 – Acts 8:1-40 – How “porous” is the distinction between commercial and spiritual in my heart and thinking? Prayer starter: Holy Spirit, I know that spiritual things like meaning, happiness, fulfillment cannot be bought with money. Help me to discern the way to these things in the midst of a very seductive material culture.
4/8 – Acts 9:1-31 – What are the fear and trust issues in my life right now? Prayer starter: Lord, enable me to cope with my fears. I do not want to have my life controlled by fear and mistrust.
4/9 – Acts 9:32-43 and Acts 10:1-23 – How do I react when I feel pressed toward something counter to â€œreasonâ€ or knowledge? Prayer starter: Spirit of counsel, help me to discern well. Help me to distinguish between intuition rooted in reality and fear, or need-driven ideas.
4/10 – Acts 10:24-48 and Acts 11:1-18 – How well do I rejoice in the good fortune of others, especially those of whom I am not very fond? Prayer starter: Loving Father-Mother, give me an expansive heart to share othersâ€™ joy and delight, even if I’m not feeling very delighted.
