The School of Christian Living (SOCL) at Holy Name of Jesus is not just Sunday School. Rather, it is a process of teaching, growth, relationship building, and training for applying Jesus to our lives every day.

Our process involves consistent modeling in Christian life from the example of parents in church – where their children are at their side and are not sent off separately – to parent freedom to join in the classroom, and an approach that builds on Jesus’ vision of a community of faithful Kingdom people.

We use various approaches that incorporate tools matching the learning styles of students. We stress the joy of the Christian life, not guilt and shame.

Our SOCL includes studies for Sacramental preparation (First Communion and Confirmation) at the appropriate ages. If your child has not received certain of the Sacraments we will work with you to fit them right in.

There is absolutely no cost to attend and join. The parish also fully support annual summer camp and biennial Youth Convocations at no cost to parents. We also offer scholarship opportunities in music and in other areas.

Our 2024 – 2025 SOCL Year starts Sunday, September 15th. Class takes place Sundays after 10am Holy Mass. Your child/children can start at any time.
