Holy Name of Jesus is honored to be selected as the Chapel Sponsor at the 2024 Altamont Fair. We will be on-site at the Chapel on Friday, August 16th. Holy Mass will be offered at 11am that day. Stop by and see us throughout the day and pick up a few of our give-aways.

Our parish has a deep connection to the land and all that it yields. Members of the parish and their families are farmers, rescue horses, and raise sheep, cattle, chickens, and goats. We would be happy to visit your farm or stables to bless your land and / or animals. You can reach us by E-mail or just call 518-372-1992 and Fr. Jim will stop by at your convenience.

A Traditional Blessing of Growing Crops

We beseech Thee, O Almighty God, that of Thy great goodness Thou wouldst vouchsafe to pour upon the first fruits of these fields the continual dew of Thy blessing ✠: that nourished by gentle winds and rain, the earth may bring forth her fruit in due season. Grant also Thy faithful people may show forth their thankfulness unto Thee for the same by filling the hungry with good things which the fertile earth hath brought forth, so that the poor and needy may ever praise Thy glorious Name. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

A Traditional Blessing of Livestock

O Lord God, king of heaven and earth, Word of the Father, by Whom all things were made and given unto us for our use; we entreat Thee mercifully to behold us Thy servants. As Thou dost grant us Thy help in our labors and necessities, so vouchsafe of Thy loving kindness and mercy to bless ✠. keep, and protect these cattle and herds with Thy heavenly benediction. Grant also unto us, Thy servants both temporal aid and Thy heavenly grace, that we may thankfully praise and glorify Thy holy Name. Who with the same Father in the unity of the Holy Ghost, livest and reignest God, world without end. Amen.
