Bible Study for the First Week of Lent

  • 2/26 – Ephesians 3:14-15 – Father, grant that we may see You as the center of our family – its light, peace, perseverance, and joy.
  • 2/27 – 1 Peter 2:17 – Lord Jesus, help me to see my inter-relatedness with others, our mutual membership in Your family. Grant that I may honor and cherish every member of our family.
  • 2/28 – 3 John 10 – Heavenly Father, I thank you for giving me a Church that casts none out, and opens its doors to all who seek You. Grant that my arms may be open to all who seek You and that I never shut the door, nor cast anyone out, because in doing so I fail in my duty to love.
  • 2/29 – Galatians 3:26-29 – Lord Jesus, thank You for rebirth and regeneration through the waters of baptism. Grant that I may never draw distinctions, but see only one fellowship in You.
  • 3/1 – 1 Timothy 5:1-2 – Lord, grant that I may ever honor and cherish every member of the human family as a mother, father, sister, and brother. May I respect each person’s humanity and the gifts they bring to our family of faith.
  • 3/2 – 1 Corinthians 8:5-6 – Holy Trinity, may we not consider You with the eyes of the mind, but rather rejoice in love, unity, and fellowship that surpasses all understanding.
  • 3/3 – John 3:3-5 – Lord Jesus, give Your enlightening grace to many so that they may enter into the one family of faith through baptism and the Spirit. Grant that my example of Christian life opens the path to You and never shuts the door.

Pray the week: Lord Jesus, help me to see my place in the family of faith.

Bible Study for Quinquagesima Week

  • 2/19 – Luke 7:35-50 – Lord Jesus, I love you and I know you love me. Grant me the strength to come to you with my failings, as this woman did, so I may leave free.
  • 2/20 – Luke 15:11-32 – Lord Jesus, You are generous in your forgiveness. Grant me the grace to forgive generously, freely, and extravagently.
  • 2/21 – Luke 19:1-10 – Lord Jesus, You restored Zacchaeus, and he generously restored to others. Grant me the same generosity in making right my relationships with others.
  • 2/22 – John 8:1-11 – Lord Jesus, help me to reflect on my own failings so that I may reconcile with You and Your Church. Grant me the grace to avoid judgment of others.
  • 2/23 – Acts 9:1-19 – Lord, grant me the strength to go before those who have wronged me, and with faith forgive them as You forgive me.
  • 2/24 – Matthew 18:21-22 – Lord, grant that I may not count the cost of forgiveness, but rather forgive generously and freely.
  • 2/25 – Matthew 7:1-5 – Lord Jesus, grant me perseverance throughout this Lent to forgive others and to focus only on my own shortcomings. In this process may I be reconciled with You, Your Church, and all my brothers and sisters.

Pray the week: Lord Jesus, teach me to forgive as You forgive.

  • 2/12 – Psalm 68:5-6 – Father, Your care and concern are ever before me. I rely on You. I praise and thank You for Your justice and the good You do for Your faithful.
  • 2/13 – Hebrews 13:5 – Father, grant that I may never fall into the traps of the world. May I always recognize that every gift is from You and that without Your grace I am lost and alone.
  • 2/14 – Isaiah 61:1-3 – Lord Jesus, thank You for the fulfillment of the promises spoken by Isaiah. Your love and care are with me, and I am Yours.
  • 2/15 – Philippians 2:3-7 – Lord Jesus, grant that I may follow You in serving others, in putting their needs before my own in Christian love.
  • 2/16 – John 15:18-19 – Lord Jesus, You have taken me from the clutches of the world and have given me a great inheritance with You for eternity. I praise and thank You.
  • 2/17 – John 17:23 – Lord Jesus, You prayed to the Father and in doing so, I have become one with You. Grant that I may recognize the unity I have with You and the Father.
  • 2/18 – Psalm 34:15-22 – Father, my refuge is in You. I desire to live righteously and know that in doing so, You will ever hear and be with me.

Pray the week: Lord Jesus, free me from all loneliness.

Bible Study for Septuagesima Week

  • 2/5 – Philippians 3:13 – Lord Jesus, grant me the grace of fixing my eyes and thoughts on the road ahead, and Your goal for my life.
  • 2/6 – Acts 22:10 – Lord, grant me the courage to trust solely in Your call and Your guidance.
  • 2/7 – Philippians 3:12 – Forgiving God, look not at my sins of the past but my actions going forward. Grant me the grace to set aside sins, failings, and regrets so that I may work only for Your kingdom.
  • 2/8 – Ephesians 6:7 – Lord, Your path is set before me. Grant that I may follow it without distraction, focused only on pleasing You.
  • 2/9 – Isaiah 40:31 – Lord, the joys of serving You are without number. The graces You provide ensures our victory. Grant me the grace to trust in Your word.
  • 2/10 – John 2:5 – Blessed Mother, pray for me that I may follow your example and call all to do as your Son Jesus asks.
  • 2/11 – Isaiah 33:21-22 – Lord, Your path and Your goal are not obtained by force or power, but by trust and willingness to do as You ask. Grant me the grace to go Your way, and there to find my rest and peace.

Pray the week: Lord Jesus, give me the grace to reach the goal You set before me.

  • 1/29 – Psalm 23 – Lord Jesus, You are my Shepherd. Grant that I may always take comfort in You, never forgetting that in the midst of turmoil or anxiety, You are with me.
  • 1/30 – John 14:27 – Lord Jesus, Your peace is my refuge. Grant me Your gift of peace, and the knowledge that there is nothing that can overcome or defeat Your gifts.
  • 1/31 – Psalm 42:11 – Lord Jesus, You know that I grow weary and discouraged. Grant me the grace to rise up again, singing Your praise as I do Your work.
  • 2/1 – Psalm 37:1-5 – Lord, the world and those that cling to it rage about me. Grant that I may see Your light that pierces every darkness, and enable me to carry that light to the dark places around me.
  • 2/2 – Matthew 6:33 – Lord Jesus, as the week winds down, grant me refreshment, renewal, and Your constant light.
  • 2/3 – John 16:33 – Lord, victorious King, You have overcome the world, and none of its darkness can harm me. May I always acknowledge Your peace and Your promises as enough for me.
  • 2/4 – Philippians 4:6-7 – Lord Jesus, set my heart and mind on You. Place me within the community of Your Church so that I may work with all and for all, showing forth Your peace.

Pray the week: Lord Jesus, grant me Your comfort in the midst of cares and anxiety.

  • 1/22 – 1 John 4:19 – Lord Jesus, grant that my eyes may see as Your eyes see, and my heart may love as You love.
  • 1/23 – Romans 12:9 – Holy Spirit, come and grant the gift of discernment. Enkindle my heart with the fire of Your love.
  • 1/24 – Philippians 4:6-7 – Lord, I cast my fears and anxieties upon You. Free me to see and to do good.
  • 1/25 – James 1:22 – Lord Jesus, take me by the hand, lift me up, and set me to work in Your fields and vineyards.
  • 1/26 – Galatians 5:19-21 – Lord, take my sins away! Give me the grace to avoid temptation and to do what is right and proper in Your eyes.
  • 1/27 – Galatians 5:22-23 – Holy Spirit, I have been freed! Send forth Your gifts to enlighten and strengthen me to show Christ to the world.
  • 1/28 – Galatians 2:20 – Lord Jesus, You freely gave Yourself for me. I accept and love You above all else. May my words and actions reflect Your life within me.

Pray the week: Lord Jesus, I chose to follow You. Thank you for changing my life.

Bible Study for the Fourth Week of Christmas

  • 1/15 – Isaiah 54:10 – Lord Jesus, Your love is everlasting, it is our rock in the midst of the world’s rejection. Grant that we may live Your love and exhibit it to all.
  • 1/16 – John 3:16 – Father of all, You gave us Your Son that the world might know Your everlasting love. We praise and thank You for our salvation which He accomplished, and for inviting us to love as You love.
  • 1/17 – Romans 5:8 – Jesus, You welcome all to come to You. You never let sin block our way to You. Grant that we may always come to You in our distress knowing that we will find healing and peace.
  • 1/18 – John 15:13 – Lord Jesus, Your love caused You to lay down Your life for us. Grant that we may offer our lives in service to each other and Your Holy Church. Increase vocations, and let us count no cost as too great in the cause of Your love.
  • 1/19 – 1 Corinthians 2:9 – Heavenly Father, Your Son Jesus revealed the glory and joy of life everlasting. We eagerly anticipate a life of love with You. Grant that we may ever strive to live lives worthy of entry into life with You in heaven.
  • 1/20 – Romans 8:38-39 – Lord Jesus, when we are fearful and set upon, grant us reassurance that nothing in this world can stand in the way of Your love. Wipe away all that we perceive standing between us and You, for there is nothing that can overcome Your love.
  • 1/21 – 2 Corinthians 13:14 – Lord, as we come to You each week as a community of prayer, in Your Holy Church, grant this prayer. Grant that we always stand in Your grace, peace, fellowship, and love.

Pray the week: Lord Jesus, we love each other because You dwell in all.

  • 1/8 – Luke 2:8-14 – Lord Jesus, You are the news of great joy. Come fill our hearts with Your happiness, which is eternal.
  • 1/9 – Hebrews 12:2 – Lord Jesus, You chose the cross to open the door to joy for all of us. We praise and thank you for Your great love.
  • 1/10 – Romans 14:17 – Lord Jesus, we long for Your kingdom. Maranatha! Come Lord Jesus!
  • 1/11 – Colossians 1:11-14 – Father, you have made us co-heirs to the kingdom. You are our inheritance and our joy. Grant that we be drawn ever closer to You and each other in the family of faith.
  • 1/12 – Psalm 16:11 – Lord Jesus, the pleasures of the world are of little account. Grant that we may ever value the treasure You offer us, Your presence, Your path.
  • 1/13 – Psalm 5:11 – Lord Jesus, You are our strength and our protector. You shield us from harm and give us life unending. We praise and thank You in joyful song.
  • 1/14 – John 15:10-12 – Lord Jesus, grant that we may ever abide in You, and that we may find true and full joy in doing so.

Bible Study for the Second Week of Christmas

  • 1/1 – Acts 10:36 – Lord, we thank you for bringing us Your good news and peace. May we abide in Your word and in doing so find peace.
  • 1/2 – Isaiah 53:4-5 – Lord Jesus, You carried our sins for us, and in Your offering of Yourself brought us peace. May we ever acknowledge what You have done and live in the knowledge that we are free because of You.
  • 1/3 – Colossians 1:19-20 – Jesus, in You we find the revelation of the Father. Your dwelling among us, and Your abiding with us, are the everlasting gift of peace.
  • 1/4 – Romans 5:1 – Holy Spirit, we thank and praise You for calling us to be regenerated into life with Jesus. In our new life we have the promise of peace which surpasses all human peace.
  • 1/5 – John 14:27 – Lord Jesus, thank You for Your gift of heavenly peace. Continue to strengthen and reassure us so we fear no trouble of human making.
  • 1/6 – John 16:33 – Lord, You overcame this world and left us true life in Your Holy Spirit. The fears of the world are dissolved. Thank you for overcoming the world and freeing us.
  • 1/7 – Colossians 3:15 – Father, You have called us together into the body of Your Holy Church. Continue to grant unity and peace in Your Holy Church that it may draw all unto Your peace.

Bible Study for the First Week of Christmas

  • 12/25 – Isaiah 9:2,6-7 Reflect and pray: Lord Jesus, in Your coming you dispelled all darkness and gave us the light of Your gospel. Grant that Your light illumine our hope and govern all we say and do.
  • 12/26 – Romans 15:12-13 Reflect and pray: Holy Spirit, as Your adopted sons and daughters we pray that You bless us with constant hope, joy, and peace in believing. Grant that by Your gifts our lives may reflect and give testimony to the reason for our hope.
  • 12/27 – 1 Peter 1:3 Reflect and pray: Lord Jesus, by Your coming you once again renew our hope. Grant that this hope be refreshed in us each day.
  • 12/28 – Colossians 1:26-27 Reflect and pray: Lord Jesus, because of You we have hope to attain riches and glory without measure for all eternity. Grant that our eyes be fixed on true riches and glory. Save us from the distractions of vanity and the allure of greed for the things of the world.
  • 12/29 – Ephesians 1:18-20 Reflect and pray: Father, strengthen our hope and make us steadfast. You have given us power without measure, and a share in the Kingdom as Your adopted sons and daughters. Grant that we never loose sight of the power of faith rooted in the truth of the gospel.
  • 12/30 – Hebrews 10:23 Reflect and pray: Child Jesus, grant that we hold fast to the confession of our hope without wavering. May we faithfully serve, worship, and adore You in Your Holy Church. Grant that through our parish communities we may love and serve our neighbors.
  • 12/31 – Psalm 71:14 Reflect and pray: Lord Jesus, You have given us hope without measure and the graces necessary to remain in that hope. Grant that we may be found rejoicing before all people because of Your gift.

Pray the week: Lord Jesus, You came to give us hope. Strengthen my hope.
